Creating PCB circuits

For one project (will post it later here) I had to draw a electrical circuit, a kind of clear and understandable one.
In some cases its great to have still after years a circuit of some DIY projects to understand and be able to reproduce them :)

I tried to look around for some newer circuit drawing tools and my decision falls again to KiCad.

Electronics basics (high voltage)

If your are looking at your power socket(European standard) you see two pins. One of two pins is your phase and the other one is the neutral and of course the ground.

The stupid thing is, there is no rule that makes sure that right pin or the left one of your power socket is the phase. There are many rules for electricity, why not for this? [Read more…]
