Electronics basics (high voltage)

October 3, 2011 by Igor Drobot Leave a Comment

If your are looking at your power socket(European standard) you see two pins. One of two pins is your phase and the other one is the neutral and of course the ground.

The stupid thing is, there is no rule that makes sure that right pin or the left one of your power socket is the phase. There are many rules for electricity, why not for this?

Some basics(European standards):
Phase (german Phase) (PS. can be black too)
Neutral (german Nulleiter) normally no voltage
Ground (german Schutzleiter)

If there is no rule I make some own rules:)) My phase is on the right side!
